Chevy Does Not Make This Config, Right?

I want to buy a 1/2-ton crew cab 4WD with 6.5-foot box. Not a 5.5-foot box. Near as I can tell, Chevy/GMC don't make this configuaration, right? I do not want a 1500HD because it has a 6.0L gasser and mileage is not so good.

Ford has what I am looking for but they are very rare, I've only seen a picture of one. Dodge has one but the back seat of the crew cab does not have enough leg room.

BTW, I noticed on the Dodge web site that the 2009 Dodge crew cab will be bigger, like Chevy and Ford, and I'm not referring to the Megacab. Looks like a redesign.

Thanks

The 09 Dodge won't help ya, Dodge is going to be using only 2 wheelbases in there new 2009 1/2 ton trucks. The same wheel bases will be used to offer the crew cab with the 5.5 bed, the quad cab with the 6.5 (same size as todays quad cab) and also the reg cab long bed will be all on that single wheelbase. The other wheelbase will be for the reg cab short box only. So it looks like even in 09', that Ford is going to still be the only player to offer the 6.5ft crew cab configuration.

I am suprised at this since for about 3 years now, our tax code for busines to write 1/2 ton trucks off, treats the 5.5ft bed trucks like SUVs. Meaning you can write off the entire amount of a truck with a 6+ foot bed, but ony 25K on trucks with 5.5 foot beds (SUV class). I am suprised that only Ford offers the 6.5 bed in a crew cab.

I WISH they did! I think it would make the CC truck look a little better. I can fit my 4-wheeler in the back, so thats all I care about. I have an enclosed trailer for anything else.

The larger bed configurations are available in the Titan, smaller Frontier, Tundra, and smaller Tacoma in crew cab form. Ford and Dodge (back seat too small I know) are the only domestics that have full size beds in the CC 1/2 ton.

The actual size of the GMT-900 CC short beds is I believe 5.9. Up an inch from the GMT-800's which were 5.8. Still very usable space. I don't really miss the slightly larger 6.5 beds anymore, but I rarely find myself hauling things around anymore where every inch counts.
