Installing 6disk Radio From An 07 Into My 03

Ok, i recently bought a factory 6 disk in dash changer that is from a 2007 trailblazer to install into my 2003 Silverado that has the cd/cassette combo. When i was doing the steering wheel and clockspring swap i installed the radio to see if it would come on and just say lock and when i plugged in the two harness plugs the main one and the small one for the sat radio, it didnt do anything, it wouldnt even say lock, or come on at all.

 

I asked around before i bought it and was told it should work, but i of course will need to get it reprogrammed to work in my truck, but ive read that most will get the radio to say loc until the reprogram is done. Just trying to make sure i didnt buy a junk radio.

Physically, the radio may fit, but electronically, it won't work. The '07 radio requires a vin lock, and your '03 is outside the vin range, plus your bus is not the correct type. Sorry, but I think you wated your money.

well, i guess thats why it wouldnt power up at all when i plugged it in. Guess ill put it back up for sale.
