Has anyone come up with an elegant way of changing the fuel filter on the NBS DuraMax?

 

On my '03, I could go in from the top, but on my '08 I have molded mud flaps installed, and it's a real PITA to go in via the wheel well.

I have never changed it through the wheel well. To me that is a PIA. Always through the top. It is a little tricky to get to the harness first, but it can be done with my small hands.

How can you remove it from the top? On my '03 it could (barely) be pulled up through there, but on my NBS '08 I'd need to remove a couple body braces and the second battery and only then I could (maybe) make a passge to lift it through.
