Door Emblems

Hi, newbie to the forum.

I've lost the bow tie from one of my door emblems. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement? Either just the bow tie or the complete emblem. I haven't gone to the dealer yet, only looking online but I can't find anything. Also what's involved in removing these? I assume it's just d/s tape. If anyone's done this please advise.

Yup, double stick tape, but it sticks damn well. I just pulled mine off the tailgate today, and what a PITA that was... I say just pull off both emblems, and leave them off.

Yip... Peel it off and keep driving. If you really have to have a new one, the dealer is your only option.

Somewhere in here, someone suggested using fishing line to remove the emblem. Wrap some on 2 sticks as handles (i.e. godfather style) and pull it thru the tape.

 

In other applications, once all of the material is removed and the only thing left is the glue, I use 90 proof alcohol to remove the glue. Can't say if it will work TOO good on the truck paint though.

u will get tons of choices.

 

to remove, i got soem 'goo be gone" or soem adhevsive remover from autozone, and started peeling with fishing line. just to start it..then used my fingers to peel the rest of the emblem off. as said above, be careful not to ruin the paint.

Just don't wrap it around your fingers... I was rushing to do my tailgate yesterday before it got dark, and my fingers are all cut up. Yeah, I'm an idiot.
