Power Outlet Dead (driver Side) In 2006 Hd

Has anybody experienced a dead power outlet on the driver side? I checked the fuse and it seams OK. The cigarette lighter outlet works. (passenger side outlet)

 

 

Please help before I bring it in to dealership

You would think it's unplugged as it is jumped from the cigarette lighter, could be a broken wire or a connection issue also. Just pull the panel to check it out. Has anyone been in that part of the console? As it won't be warranty if they think someone has been in there. If your uncomfortable than take it to the dealer. Good luck!

Nope, nobody has been in the console. Everything is bone stock, even the radio/cd player. The only current mods to the truck is BF goodrich mud terrains and a jackrabbit bed cover, which both of those mods have no electrical in them.

Well, I just got a call from the dealer. The plug "element" went bad. Replaced it under warranty

That's great. While it's there do you have the rattle in the steering column? You will at some point. Make sure you get a new one before warr. expires.

there is a slight rattle in the steering column when I turn to the left.......was there a recall?

Sounds like it needs the updated steering shaft.

Yup, The truck was ready within 2 hours of bringing it in. Will have to get that fixed after my south padre trip.
