I'M THINKING OF PURCHASING A BEDRUG FOR MY 08 SIERRA SHORTBED, MY CONCERN IS WITH WATER DRAINAGE. DOES IT HOLD WATER LIKE A DROP-IN LINER OR DOES IT DRAIN OUT THE BOTTOM OF THE BED AND IF SO DOES IT HOLD IN THE MOISTURE UNDERNEATH??? I HAVE A TONNEAU BUT IT WON'T ALWAYS BE ON ANY ADVISE WOULD HELP.

It does not hold water. In fact, cleaning it with a pressure washer works great, and usually a day of driving, or sitting in the sun is all it takes to dry it. It's closed cell foam, so it doesn't soak up water.

I have one in my Ford, and already have one waiting for my GMC as soon as the new truck comes in.

THANKS, I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT THIS FOR A WHILE I'M THROUGH WITH DROP INS AND THE DEALER WARNED ME ABOUT SPRAY INS, HOW THEY HAVE BEEN VOIDING THE WARRANTIES IN SOME CASES

I think a lot of us would like to know how/why a spray-in bedliner can void the GM warranty.

Many dealers pull the "Voided Warranty" card out of theis ass at the drop of a hat. No worries... just go to the next one.

Everybody I have known that had a bedrug absolutely loved it. I've never owned one but I have never seen any other truck accessory that everybody loved.

Just had one put in. Havent been able to tell if it'll hold water but from what Ive seen and hear it wont. Also if easily removable if needed. I think the website even shows washing out with a power washer

LOL, I'd like to hear my dealer say my Line-X voided my warranty. They are the ones that had it done, prior to me taking delivery. :uhoh: They told me ALL dealer-installed accessories get covered under the GM warranty, but in this case, the Line-X warranty is better since it's lifetime.

I have one and love it but as for holding water not sure because mine is under my fiberglass cover. It is very comfy yet durable, you could even have a nap back there. I sprayed a light coat of rustproffing oil underneath and wiped that down then installed the bedrug just incase water did get trapped under it.

A tune. :uhoh:

As for the drainage issues...I don't think they'll hold water. Especially if you unzip the flap at the back (where the bed meets the tailgate). My bedrug is under the topper, so it doesn't get wet much. But I've had the topper off, and hauled my muddy ATV around on that Bedrug a few times, even washed it off in there once. The Bedrug washes pretty easily. I'd probably not have one without a cover over it though.

I love the Bedrug, and I bought it used. Something like 5 years old used.

No water drainage problems here! The close dense foam does not soak anything up and what ever water does build up drains out from the zippers that are on the perimeter of the rug. I also have a EX-tang cover that keeps things nice and dry as well.

+1^

I have the extange tri fold on mine.

hm3, do you have the tri fold also? My bedrug seems damp after a good rain. I have replaced the tailgate protector with the cap style (non spoiler type) for a better fit on the back end but still seems to get some (very little) water in.
