Fuel Filter

are there any tricks to getting the fuel filter off on a 2001 Silverado? It just seems like it is harder than it should be. the bracket design is horrible. I can't seem to move the bracket or the filter in such a way as to get the fuel lines out of the filter without pulling the lines out away from the rail with some force.

It is a PITA IMO. IIRC, I remove the back fitting, slide the filter back in the bracket, remove the front fitting and pull it out of the black plastic clip that holds the fuel line in place. Reverse for install.

Good Luck.

Just did mine last week.I removed the rear fitting, then unhooked the front line from the clips and pulled the whole works foreward, including the filter from the plastic retainer ,then let it come back and hang behind the crossmember so I could get at the fittings better.Mine was cranked on hard and couldn`t get it off where it sits.It was enjoyable!Toby
