i own a 1998 silverado z71 1500 crew cab (centurion) 5.7 liter. the fuse under the hood labeled "ecm b" blows repeatedly. the random frequency of this occurance, is one of life's cruel ironies. i know that i am a noob and i am taking certain liberties by asking such a question so early on in our relationship. it would be greatly appreciated if this could be overlooked and help provided. thanks in advance.

Have you gotten this worked out? What does it affect when it pops. Are there any special events you have narrowed down to make it go? I will have to dig alittle more on the ECMB systems.

I can give you an answer based on my past experience. Whether it applies to your situation is another matter!

I had a 1990 GMC V3500 (old body style) truck that blew out that fuse randomly, but seeminly always at the worst possible moment. It turned out to be a main wire behind a cylinder head in the engine compartment. The insulation had rubbed away and when the wire would hit the cylinder head just right...pop went the fuse. I found it by doing the "wiggle" test. While the engine was running I just started grabbing different parts of the wiring loom and wiggling it. It took me hours to find it but when I got to the right part of the loom I knew it. Good luck!
