What Brand Running Boards

Well this winter was hard on my back country brand black powercoated running boards, got about 5 years out of them and there shot!!! My truck is red and i have alot of black accents ie: factory fender flares, mud guards, light bar, etc. so i would like to stick with the black tube style running boards. So im just wondering what brands youguys are going with, im leaning towards Westin, also should i go with round ones or oval?? any help is cool!!

I have the Westin Oval Tube Steps powdercoated black. I like the way they look and they install using existing holes. However I have only had mine about 14 months and the powdercoat is peeling like crazy. They do have warranty and Summit Racing said bring them in and new ones I shall have. I think I will pay the price difference for polished only because I do not want to replace every year. Just my experience.

Yeah i've been doing some searching, and found westin has some oval ones made from aluminum and come in black with a lifetime warranty! could be the way to go in salty michigan!

Fellow Michigander here, I've got the Westin Platinum series bars (wheel to wheel, black powdercoat stainless). You can get the platinum series bars in different lengths and either polished or black, either finish is stainless and the lifetime warranty.

So far I'm happy with mine, have had them for almost a year now, still look as good as when I put them on, and they saw a lot of salt this winter.

Coachmen, you're from Lansing huh, I recently moved down here. Go State (hockey and b-ball)!!

I would say get anything thats made of stainless steel and powercoated black since you desire black. My Silverado has round Nasta 3" nerfs & not 1 bit of rust, and according to the slip in the owners manual from March 2005 they have been on for 3 years :D
