Hid's Completed!

Well guys...I did like Tobias and ordered some HID's for my truck H11's in the Low Beams and the 9005's in the Fog Lamps. I was having trouble when I first installed them because one them kept shutting off so after reading on the board I ordered the Headlamp Harness from SUVLights and got it installed yesterday...I had a little trouble getting everything to work on the left side...it wouldn't turn the ballast on at all....what I ended up finding out after a couple hours of troubleshooting was that the Terminals needed to be reversed on the plugs on the Driver Side of this harness, once I swapped the terminals for the plugs on the left hand side everything worked great and I'm pleased to report I am happy with them. The foglights are cool also, but I wouldn't necessarily do them unless you are wanting all your lights to match up front...they really don't add that much more light, I think its because the low beams are so overwhelming already.

Also Will and Tobias....we were talking about me not having a horn a week or two ago once removing the DRL fuse....well I managed to remove one DRL fuse and (kinda embarrased to admit this) the Horn fuse...I actually never pulled the remaing DRL fuse until yesterday, cause after the complete install I was still having trouble with that left side shutting off...then I decided to investigate and sure enough there was one DRL fuse left. I guess there is one fuse for each side. Fuse 32 must be the Left DRL and Fuse 32 must be the Right DRL.

Backup Camera issue is also gone...I was having grey lines running acrost the screen when the HID's were on so I insulated the backs of the mounting brackets and instead of bolting them to the fenders I used plastic push in retainers...that took care of that issue.

So I guess a summary of this...Pull you DRL fuses and enjoy....while the harness makes everything brighter...I don't think its really necessary!
