Factory Nav System Install Problems (gmt900)

alright guys, got a tough one for you. installed a factory nav system in my 07 sierra a couple weeks ago. the install went well, and had no problems. however, at this point i did not install the jpcustoms VSS line.

 

fastforward to today. since the original install, i have recieved both the jpcustoms VSS kit as well as their lockpick kit (i want the option to input POI while driving). i installed both kits quite easily. then the problems began. i cannot for the life of me get the lockpick to work. i have contacted jpcustoms who then put me through to the customer support for their supplier. their supplier told me to set the dip switches 1 and 2 down, all others up. this did nothing, and i still cant input anything while moving. they claim that i need to hit the "window lock" button 4 times within 6 seconds. when this is done, nothing changes. im beginning to think that the box is faulty and not working, but i want to rule that out first, before shipping it back.

 

also, an annoying new thing popped up after the install. now, as i drive, the arrow (that is my truck) on the gps screen, seems to be pooping out little blue dots, which linger wherever i have been. dont know what has caused this (either the lockpick or the VSS setup), or what i can do to get them to go away, but as of now there are like 50 little blue dots showing my history of my travels. i am afraid that soon, you wont be able to see the roads any more, there will be too many dots in the way.

 

give me your advice here guys, where do you think these problems lie?

ok, i pulled out the lockpick. i am convinced it is a faulty box. will be sending it back to jp tomarrow.

 

now onto the blue dots. what the hell are those things and how do i get rid of them. every 30 seconds to a minute one gets deposited along the road im following. so now, after driving to and from school and work and the gas station today, i have blue dots all over the map and i cant get them to go away. how do i go about turning this off and getting rid of the dots that are everywhere?

the blue dots are pecker tracks. so if you need to go back the same way you just follow the tracks

so how do i get rid of them? do they disappear over time? over distance? or do they last forever?

from what i notice just over time. try hitting the nav button again i dunnow

select "menu" then select "nav" then turn off the off road feature of the nav radio
