Do you have a 5.7? I don't know if this will make any difference or not, but there is a reset button by the air filter box. You might also try cleaning the maf. jmo

The maf is in between the air filter box and the tb. It has a plug going into it. Use some CRC mass air flow cleaner. Make sure you use short bursts, not one continuous spray. Oh yeah, you have to take it off the truck.

so would a dirty MAF cause a rough idle? and how hard is it to take out?

it's pretty simple to take out. there are 2 radiator clamps on both sides. You might check the egr valve also. They can cause a rough idle as well. It is located on the front of the engine next to the thermo housing. Is it stalling on you, or just a rough idle? If it is then lean towards the egr valve. Good luck.

well i bought some Seafoam Deep Creep... ill try it tonight...

i also bought a new serpentine belt since it was squeking

Riggs, please do not put the Deep Creep on your MAF sensor. You will be buying a new one if you do. Deep Creep is great for cleaning the Throttle Body but you need a specific cleaner for the MAF. CRC was the first (to my knowledge) to make a MAF cleaner and it is great.
