my catalytic is making a rattling noise, so im about to get a magnaflow cat, but i dont wanna take it to a shop and pay someone $70 to do a lil' welding that i could do myself with a decent jack. so are there any other ways to install a new cat?

Make sure its your cat thats rattling. It could just be the heat shield around the cat. If your going to replace the cat anyways, take the heat shield off just to make sure its not that first. I have never heard of an actual cat making rattling noises unless you smashed it hard enough to break up the honeycomb inside and a piece of that is rattling around.
