Hello , I need the NAVTEQ Brazil mapping , it's avaiable online to download.My question is:

If I burn it on a DVD disc and load it into my chevy 2008 factory navigation system ,Is it gonna work???

I'm guessing so as long as it is the same format as the original disk or an exact ISO image.

Navteq must have the same format for all ,isn't it?what do you think ,i wrote them an e-mail ,but never got an answer...

Well I would think it would be the same, but I don't know for sure. I'm gonna experiment with our Nav disk to see if I can even make an ISO of it. The only thing I'm thinking is some kind of code in the disk that would keep it from working.

It can be done, I have made copies of my 2008 Navi disc that works just fine in my truck.

From my research when I was looking this up for pwall, you have to burn it as a DVD-ROM.

I could use an 08 disc. PM me for the best way to get one! PLEASE! My ver 4.1 disk is scratched.

I finally received a disk from GM.....was able to copy it using NERO. So now I using the 'backup' copy in the truck, and the original is back in it's case on the shelf in my office.

I am a new Chevy owner, '05 Avalanche, YES! Anyway, the NAV system needs the maps disc and I didn't get one with the truck. What do I need to do to aquire the maps, etc? Is this a subscription kind of thing or what?
