Well today I finaly got the chance to take my truck up to my old job to get the rear lift blocks taken out and shorter u-bolts installed.

I must say I love the new stance. Very SS like in my eyes. :D

Haven't had the chance to drive it very much yet but so far it seems to ride a little smoother actually (live on a gravel road). Will try to remember to give a report towards the end of the week after some miles are put on.

Here is it before...

umm :D why do you want you 4x4 lower?

My question exactly. One with the Z71 package, none the less.

Good thing you've got those skid plates under your front axle and transfercase, because they'll be scraping the ground pretty quick here.

He just took the block that sits between the rear springs and axle. It won't change the front ground clearance.

Yeah... He just leveled the truck a little. Unless he's driving over boulders, he'll never have any issue. Z71 is a poser 4x4 anyway. You guys are like a bunch of piranhas after a bleeding monkey.

haha Jim you crack me up...

I did it because its the truck i have and i dont haul or tow anything major (just a couple bikes and some gear). and i only got a 4x4 because of snow and sometimes where i go riding its real snotty. besides... the SS's are AWD, wanna bag on them? lol.

I used to have a lifted truck before this one and i actually like the way this one rides much better, get many more compliments on it then my old one.

and btw, the badges are coming off soon so whos gonna know its a Z71? lol.

Honestly, I can see lowering a 4x4. He may need the extra traction, especially if he gets heavy snow where he lives, and may just like the look of a lowered truck. Can't knock him for that.

EDIT: Man I need to start refreshing before I post.

Jason, you KNOW I'm just messing with you. I think the leveled look is nice BTW.

There are plenty of perfectly valid reasons to lower a 4x4 anyway. I know the caveman mentality says it has to be "up there" to be a 4x4. Depends on what you intend to do with it. I'd imagine 10% of 4x4 owners use them as a 4x4... (and then there's that forever cerebral sport called MUDDIN). Jeez. :D Everybody has a different take on it.

You'd be surprised how many stuck 6000 pound "4x4s" I can drive around in my Jeep Cherokee without slowing down or how many places it will go without any issue that they can't even get to. GM, Dodge, Ford 4x4s are way too heavy and large to be serious wheelers unless you have a ton of mods.
