Turn Signal Stays On 1999 Silverado

The other day when i got in my truck I noticed the right turn signal light by the odometer stayed on. I checked the turn signal switch (lever) and it was fine. The left turn signal works fine. So I got out and then noticed that the front and rear right side turn lights were also on and would not turn off. It does not flas whe you lift the lever up also. I changed all the bulbs and it is still doing it. Anyone know what might be the problem?

Yup, the problem is that your lights aren't blinking!

Haha.

It's the turn signal modulator or whatever it's called. It's in the wiring under the steering column - it is the piece that pulses the current to make the lights blink. I had the same problem in my old Buick Lesabre. I just changed out the part within 3 minutes and it was working fine again.

edit: not "turn signal modulator" -- RELAY sounds better. I'm dumb.

ok.....so it may be under the stearing column. Anybody else been in this area? I see just 2 screws holding the bottom cover on. Should it be right there?

pretty easy, just remove the knee bolster and then pull out the flasher (make sure to release the little pin) and then replace it with a fresh one..and then put the cover back on....

Just make sure your truck doesn't explode when doing that. Exploding is a known issue
