New Tune And Crankshaft Sensor

I am getting a new tune here comming to me in the next couple days, and my 01 8.1 has the crankshaft sensor recall on it now. Do you think it would all be good to throw in my new pcm then take it to the dealership get the new crankshaft sensor on it, then they would have to do a crank relearn on it because of the new sensor then that would set my new pcm up? Should i be all right?

as long as they do the re-learn you should be good to go

Chances are, they'd probably have no idea it's tuned. But I wouldn't take the chance. Just get that recall done before you put the new tuned PCM in there. Then you can go somewhere else to get the case learn done with the new PCM. No point in having to do it twice.

Omega's right, you never know they could reflash your new tuned PCM and not tell you, now you have to send it back to get it re-tuned and you'll still have to to a relearn.

Just curious 83trekker, who is doing the new tune for you, is it Westers? Is this a deal where they send you a reprogramed PCM , charge you for the core and the program and then you send them your PCM as a core and they refund you ? I have an 2500hd 8.1/Allison and I'm considering the same thing. Thanks.

Actually I went with wait4meperforamce, i talked to alot of guys very happy with there tune and gains of 1-2 mgp plus more power, and for 160 bucks including shipping and i get to keep my old PCM it was a no brainer.Dont have it yet its comming this week.
