Smashed!

Well this is one of our work trucks... The person that was driving it is a Mexican lady and she drove this truck with a water tank for watering for flowers. I have also used this truck many times for plowing snow and you cant even see the plow mount....

So one day on the way back to the shop she decided to try and beat a multiple axle dump truck pulling a 20 ton Cap. trailer with bih trenching machine. As you can tell from the photos they hit about head on spinning the truck a couple times. The water pump flew out of the truck onto the other side of the 5 lane road.

This was a really good running truck it is a 2002 Silverado 2500 and had about 175,000 miles on it. I think that I am going to buy it if the buy back is low enough.

Ohhh and the driver walked/limped away with some bruises and a broken foot. Driver side door opened for her to get out but wouldnt shut..... I am sure you can see why!

......it's 6-year-old pile of tortured scrap. Why would anyone other than a scrap metal dealer pay even a nickel for it?

Yeah that truck is totaled and why buy it back? The frame is shot and there is no way you will be able to get it straight among many other totaled parts.

Come on now, the gas cap might still be good. Its worth it!!!

Well I do scrap on the side and I am trying to get his thing for $300 tops... To me there is a lot of money that can be made off of this truck...

The engine is screwed but the bottom block in those 6.0 engines are 6 bolt mains and really stong and possible salvageable... I may be able to pull the engine and get $300 as is... I have seen them with that many miles same circumstance go from anywhere between $300-$800....

Now we have a metal yard that buys old catalitic converters and you get no less than $100.... All the GM cats that I have taken in are about $185 on average... The back tires are brand new...

The rear end I already have sold for $250 if salvageable if I get the truck...

And depending on what else can be sold like if the battery didnt blow I can either sell it or they are paying about $5.35 for batteries right now.

Scrap down here is $10 a 100lbs So I am thinking after I pull the engine and tranny if I do so and rear end still lookin at wieghing in around 2000lbs give or take...

This place that I go to pays out the ying yang for cores too....

Shyeah. So hopefully I can get it for cheap... I am waiting to hear cause I am also buying a caravan with a bad tranny for like 250.

Damn, she sure tore the truck up. Scrap prices are up. I don't know what steel is going for, but aluminum siding and cans are around $.70 a lb. around here.

nice. Yeah my boss called the insurance company today said that he wants to buy it back on my behalf... So we will see what comes of it.... If I dont get it I have other cars to destroy!
