Driving Lights Wired Into Bright Lights

I have a 2008 Silverado 2500 HD. I've mounted a set of KC Hilites driving lights on my grill guard and I would like to wire them up so that they are turned on with the factory brights if the switch is on. There is a white wire that triggers the relay that can either be hooked up to the positive battery terminal or tapped into one of the high beam wires. The instruction sheet includes a warning that many of the newer vehicle's computers will have problems if you use the high beam wire tap approach. Have any of you wired your driving lights up this way and did you experience any problems?

Thanks.

Possible probable issue is that the "computer" on many newer vehicles essentially monitors the lights (how many varies) to detect a burned out bulb. The connection you describe might impact whether that feature works on the high beams and/or possibly cause a constant failure signal.

Its a pretty slick setup, thinking about getting one and doing the same thing when I get some off road lights.
