New Converter Time

Alright so when my stock TC locks up it shakes the whole truck, and when I'm in OD and accelerate without down shifting at about 45-55mph it vibrates and shakes. Pretty sure the torque converter is almost done for.

So...I've been researching a lot and I think the Yank truck thruster 3000 is the part I want (Thanks Sam). Reasonably priced and renowned as a great product. I think the 3000 will give me the performance I want and not kill my mileage and daily drive-ability. The 2600 is also good but after talking around probably wouldn't give the seat of pants I want over the stocker. They provide moderate acceleration at about 1/4 throttle and ease up nicely around 2000rpms. But if you mash it rips through the gears a lot faster and decreases the drop in rpms between shifts.

I guess what I'm asking are opinions and advice in general, good idea bad etc. I have the trans cooler that came with the hd trailering equipment so do I really need something bigger to go with it?

roger that. I don't tow much at all anymore. This truck used to be a work horse but it's been pretty much retired of that being my daily driver. I heard the yank3000 still tows ok though.

Should...That's a fairly mild stall for a truck.

I drove a TBSS with a 4000 stall and a HUGE cam, it was crazy to drive lightly. Hammer down though...And that truck felt like it had 900 horsepower.

I talked to my tranny guy today and I think I'm going to hold off on the stall until I know the current TC is actually cooked. He's gonna schedule a day to test drive the truck and were going to go from there. Who knows might just need a fluid change. It's been 80K since my last tranny flush.

Fluid change has always taken care of that shudder (in my experience anyway)...Change it out anyway! Torque converters are easy!
