Hello From Utah!

I'm a bit slow in making my introduction, but better late than never. I've been waiting to get me truck all polished and shiny, but thought I should get this taken care of even without a shiny truck...

First off, I love my truck.

I live in Salt Lake and am the CFO of a finance company. I bought my truck to deal with my mid-life crisis. Also to go camping and hopefully haul some atv's in the near future.

I purchased my 2008 Silverado K1500 Crew Cab in March. It has the VortexMax engine and the Trailer Max package. It also has the crappy ebony cloth seats and six passenger seating. I had the dealer install the GM six inch oval steps and put in a spray in bed liner. I got the bed liner free.

So far I've used it mainly for hauling crap for family and cruising on the weekends so I only have about 2,600 miles on it.

It was my intention to keep my truck pretty stock, but I stumbled on to this site doing a Google search for something and, much to my wife's dismay, I decided to add a few personal touches after seeing your trucks and reading about all your mods.

So far I have installed a Truxedo LowPro tonneau cover, WeatherTech front and rear Floorliners, GMPP CAI, GM rear wheel well liners, and a Magnaflow catback exhaust.

I got the oval steps because my wife is short and I have a couple young kids. Would prefer not to have them, but I didn't have much of a choice. I am considering swapping them out for some N-Fab units, but not sure how they'll work for my family.

So what's next? On the top of my list are:

Leveling kit (probably a Rough Country 2").

New tire and / or wheel set up (can't seem to make up my mind on what I want though).

A tune (leaning toward Black Bear).

Something to deal with the lint issue on the ebony cloth seats (going back and forth between the GM seat covers and leather).

I'm waiting for some extra funds and for my wife to catch the truck modification bug (unfortunately my wife has been resistant so far… ) before I do anything else with it.

Welcome to the site. For a brief moment there, I thought you were wanting to get rid of the kids, but guess you were referring to the GM oval steps!

Whew! We're full of good advice on how to spend $$ on those wheels!

Yeah it did sound like I preferred not to have my wife and kids, but I was referring to the oval steps.

But I guess I'll keep them all (oval steps, wife, kids) for now.

Yeah I know. Jeff loves his 18's and bashes daddy's 20's every chance he gets. Yeah I've been lurking for a while. But I like both their trucks and their lively sparring sessions.
