High Side A/c Leak

I have a 97 Chevy C2500 pick-up. I have a leak at the high side A/C test port on the compressor. I changed the low side schrader valve, but the high side doesn't seam to have a schrader valve in the port. It has some type of valve that pushes up and down. There is a leak here.

Any ideas on how to change this valve would be highly appreciated. It looks like the top should come off in one piece, but I can't budge it and I don't want to break it.

I can pull a vacuum and it will hold, but when I take the gauges off it bleads off through the port.

Thx

On my '97 Grand Prix, from what I can recall, the high side port is one piece, and I unscrewed it out out of the line...there wasn't a "core" like the low side had (much like a tire valve "core).
