The black pearl will hit 50k soon so I plan to do some maintenance and upgrades. Tell me what you guys think about this list or make some suggestions.

Trans flush

Belts-Gatorback

Shocks-?

Tires maybe - 275/55/20 or 285/50/20

Brakes front and rear, rotors and drums-?

Seafoam before oil change

When doing the trans, drop the pan and change the filter too. If you been religiously changing your oil, I'd skip the seafoam. As for upgrades, what is you budget?

Dont wanna drop a ton of $$ in it but I am willing to pay what is required to get some nice shocks and stuff. I do tow a boat too. Seems like the stock shocks just dont ride good.

From what I have seen those run around 250-300 for a set of four. How about monroe reflex? Any better than stock?

Your list of things to change at 50K seems a bit weird. Basically, if it ain't broke, don't fix it unless you're upgrading.

Trans flush - Good idea, I live by either do it at the recommended schedule or don't do it at all.

Belts-Gatorback - Good belt, but no need to replace the stocker unless it's looking worn or cracked. Even then, keep it as a spare in case you're in the middle of nowhere and your new one breaks.

Shocks-? - Shouldn't even be close to needing new ones, I've seen them go 100k before they're worn. Unless you're upgrading, don't worry about these

Tires maybe - 275/55/20 or 285/50/20 - If your stockers aren't getting close to worn out, I wouldn't replace these yet. Save the money until you need 'em.

Brakes front and rear, rotors and drums-? - Inspect, but if you aren't hard on the brakes they won't need replaced. When you do need 'em replaced, Have the rotors checked for flatness and the drums checked for runout, machine/replace as necessary. Try to get ceramic pads/shoes to eliminate dusting.

Seafoam before oil change - If you change your oil religiously as stated above, you can skip this.

My opinions on all, take 'em for what they're worth.

thanks man. I keep getting diff opions on the schocks. several say they last 100k but some say they dont. Some people say it hurts to do a flush, something about the way parts have settled or something idk. im just gonna go by the book. gm says so, so that should be whats best for it.

No way you're getting 100K on a set of shocks....pull one of the rear shocks off and compress it and see how long it takes for it to extend, if it ever does....changed mine at about 40K and they were toast!

Im deff doing the shocks. I still dont know what to think about the flush though. I keep hearing some bad stories.

I had the trans flush done at the dealer at 50K as well....20K miles more now and no problems noted.

Yeah I think what I have been hearing about it only pertains to higher mileage vehicles that have never been flushed. Im gonna do it.
