Fuel Pump?

Over the last few months my Jimmy has just died on me while i was driving it, its happened probably 3-4 times and it stopped for a while so i kind of forgot about it. Although i should say that before i start it i have to turn the key to where all the accessories turn on and wait to hear the fuel pump, like i said i just got used to doing this and eventually didnt notice i was doing it. But today i drove it about 10 miles then parked it and when i went out to start it again none of the warnings(seat belt, check engine, etc) in the gauge cluster came on, i didnt hear the fuel pump prime either like usual. i could turn the lights on and listen to music and all that but that was it, and when i tried to start it, it acted like it wanted to start but never did. im just wondering if i should check anything else because fuel pumps for these things are around $300 and i really dont want to buy one if it could be something else.

Check fuses, but It maybe the fuel pump. If anything, you will have to drop the tank to test the pump for power.

oh yea, i should also say that i cant put it in neutral or any other gear for that matter...
