True Flow Air Intake

I just wanted to brag about my True Flow XDI CAI. I had it installed and immediately noticed better performance, and to boot so far I have 1.5 MPG gain. Just wanted to let you guys know (from my own personal opinion) that this CAI is great. I did not even think to add it until researching how to get better performance and GAs Mileage on this forum.

I have the original True Flow system and not the newer XDI. I would have to agree the system is worth the money. It is expensive but the fit, finish and overall quality is evident right away.

I have considered changing to the XDI but do not believe my Wife would be happy with the additional "intake music" that I assume it creates.

OK....I am about to change my air filter...and I am not sure what to replace it with. I have the reg stock air filter right now..and I am thinking about upgrading to an aftermarket cold air intake.

I know about the K&N...they seem to be the mainstream unit people put in...

I am not sure about injet (they seems to have a great unit) and True Flow.

Can you guys like direct me in my next purchase here? I am going to prob place the order today so I can install it this weekend...

I really just want to get the most amt of HP and get better MPG's...

Those results are interesting, im guessing those were with a 6.0L Silverado SS correct?

Sounds good...I think I am going to go with the K&N because you get more HP and TQ...

The real question is which one gives you more TQ and HP when you are towing/driving at 50-70 mph range...

I am not sure...I think they are about the same...

id sacrafice the minimal amount of torque that k&n has over a quality high flow foam filter for better filtration. K&N is not a bad filter but the amount of dirt that goes by gauze filters will surprise you.

One thing I like about True Flow CAI is XDI Xtreme Duty (by model). You can read it on its editorial: AUTOWEEK

As for the AEM vs. K&N, they are stage 1 CAIs and don't have the air boxes that prevent large particles of debris, such as mud. As for me, I prefer Injen power (air) box that protects the stage 2 air filter and shields from heat, because of its aluminum skin plate.

However, I think True Flow XDI Xtreme Duty is very promising, also. Check out at their scores on dyno: OFF-ROAD

The person who did the test said the 2 hp difference in the K&N was from the atmosphere temperature difference.

All these manufacturers of CAI's claim big #'s like 14 RWHP ...which is bull. It may have happened in a room or controlled area on "a" vehicle which is why they can put it "on the box". If you plan on keeping the truck for a while. Go with something that filters and flows at the same time not just flow. Just my $.02

It seems no matter what brand you buy...you are gettting about the same HP and TQ out of each system. The real question that I see is if you want a fully enclosed system or a open end system.

The most HP out of each system is about 15-19 HP's???
