I am installing the PAC SWI-PS steering wheel control interface. It says to hook tap the green wire to the wire in slot 6 in the BCM (green Plug) anyone know where this plug is? I cannot for the life of me find it!

Thanks,

Mike E.

Under your steering column, take the cover off and it will hit you in the face haha

Bumping an old thread, but is that the only place you can wire it to? I mean it would make sense that the steering wheel control wire must be behind the head unit somewhere so that it can send the signal to the head unit. Why can't you tie in to that wire rather than running it down below the steering column to the BCM? Anyone know what the wire behind the head unit looks like?

What truck do you have as NBS is way different. In the NBS it is on the Aftermarket interface. But in the older style it is in the wires in the steering wheel wires or bcm.

I think the NBS is data in.

You're right, I talked with PAC and they confirmed that you have to wire it to the BCM. Sucks because it's a pain to get back there but I finally did it last night.

The reason it needs to be done at the plug and not behind the HU is that PAC needs an analog signal. The signal changes from analog to digital after the plug.
