Power Locks Broken.

i have an '08 Sierra SLE extended cab 4x4. 2.5 months old just turned 3,000mi. all of the sudden the drivers door lock actuator is broken. really sucks! my dealer cant get me checked out until monday.

my question: has any body else had any problems with theirs?

The door lock switches have unfused data wires that plug into them. Get the data wire pinched or kinked, or too close to something that will pinch or kink it, and it blows the switch. The switches are only about $20, but they need to locate the cause first.

i had 2 actuators go bad in 3 weeks.

I know this thread is old, but I too am having some issues on my rear drivers side door. The actuator is not totally blown, as the door lock moves up and down slightly, but not enough to lock/unlock the door. Is this a sign that it's going bad or does something just need to be re-aligned to get it working smoothly again?

Most likely going bad, I doubt it's due to a position shift as the new trucks are cable style so it can be almost 90 degrees out and still have a good range of motion.

I'd try lubing everything up with wd40 or a good silicone spray lube. That has worked many times in the past for me when locks on several vehicles wouldn't fully unlock.
