Alright my goal is to get enough bass for me to enjoy my music... not for everybody around me... im not looking to shake the ground for 150 feet around me...

But i am looking for some pretty good bass to listen to rock with very limited rap here and there....

So far if found to look for RMS ratings and ive came up with

Subwoofer:

Control For Subwoofer:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_5260_PAC+LC1.html#

Install Kit:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_13218_...llBay+AK4.html#

but im having trouble finding a amp....

what would you guys suggest... im kinda on a very tight budget... im also building my own box as well..

how about this amp?

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_8522_P...r+GM-5300T.html

what would you guys think about this setup...

one of my freinds has a Pyramid 500 W and a old MTX Road Thunder 280 soo its pretty cheap and sound pretty good...

this setup im guessing would prolly be about 2x better since the rms on the pioneer is like 350 and his is like 150... and my amp is putting out 380 bridged and his is only doing 150...

PLEASE HELP!!! I NEED ANSWERS I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT THIS STUFF....

the amp says it only needs 8 gauge wire.... or should i still go 4?

They should be fine, for what you want.

Overkill on the power cable is not a bad thing at all, run them both to the battery. I have 4 ga on my Alpine 450.

If you are going to build your own box, just make sure it is completely air tight...gorilla glue is your friend

alright... ive been looking at this stuff forever... it will be like $175 for everything shipped.... so that isnt bad...

and when i build my box how much space do i leave the sub as much as i can? and where would you recomend putting it? i guess ill just use a lot of glue and a lot of screws... and idk 1/2" wood.. and do you secure them to the floor or just leave them sit there?

You are going to want 1.5 cubic feet for a 10. When figuring out the shape of your box, keep in mind the ideal dimensions should be:

Depth should be 0.7 x Width and Height 1.4 x Width. Also, avoid constructing an enclosure with walls that have equal dimensions, the resonance will sound like crap.

You can get basic wedge enclosures already built, and they are pretty cheap. Under the rear seat will likely be best for your truck.

yea thats where i want to put it...

its all a money thing right now...

im going to buy the sub 2 marro then when i get that i am going to get the box built..

then im going to get the install kit and run all of the wires...

then im going to get the amp and it will be all ready to go....

i was going to build one and put the amp inside of it... under the rear seat and contour it sort ot to fit the shape where the jack and stuff isnt.... so it will go from the floor to the seat and then prolly form the seat to the back wall..

so it should be big enough.. and the amp shouldnt get too hot ot i can prolly just mount it on the outside hidden of couse :dunno:.. cant have that stuff at my school or it might get stolen..

this will fit under the back seat... and for that price i might as well pay for one...

has anyone ever built a box out of plexi glass?

Heres a Roundup of what i plan to buy::

The box is going to be laying down with the sub facing up under the backseat....

how do you think this setup will do?

Those are okay, but there are better amps and subs out there for about the same price, see my last PM I sent you. I do not recommend that box AT ALL. It should 5/8" MDF minimum, I'd prefer it if it was 3/4" MDF. That sub is also way to deep for that box. Also, pay attention to the Sealed Box Volume (under the Specifications tab at SonicElectronix) that the sub calls for. That Pioneer needs a sealed box with 0.65 to 1.25 cubic feet of air space. No idea what that box provides, but from the looks of it, it might not be enough. However, sealed boxes are forgiving, you can be slightly out of range and still get decent results.

A lot of people cut strips of MDF board, use Liquid Nail to glue the boards to the recessed portions of the back wall, and then mount their amps to those boards.

Pyramid amps :D:dunno:

Your Kenwood HU might already have subwoofer controls built-in. If it has subwoofer preouts and they are turned on (try holding down on the control stick), all you have to do is press the volume button and it will allow you to turn the sub up or down.

Also, check out http://www.knukonceptz.com/ , their wiring is top-notch for the price. Or, if you don't care how the power cables look, you can always visit your local welding supply shop.

You'll probably only need 8awg wire, but like alaskaLTZ said, 4awg wouldn't hurt anything. In fact, it will give you room if you ever decide you want to upgrade your amp.
