Tune For Manual Trans?

Hi all, first post. Have a 4.3l 2007 Silverado Classic w/manual trans. Two questions for y'all - does "torque management" apply to manual trans trucks?

If not - is there any reason to use a custom mail order tune instead of buying an aftermarket product and doing it myself? Don't want to spend the $ for EFIlive or the competing high-end tuning products, but is there something from Summit or Jegs in the $300 range that would be just as good, and more flexible, than a mail order tune since I don't think I have the TM?

Thanks!

I wouldn't think so. The last few manual trans. trucks I had didn't anyways.

Well, it wasn't easy to find, but I wanted a cheap hunting truck that was new and reliable. $15k OTD (including 3k from my GM card) for a 2007 Silverado Classic work truck 4x4, short bed, 4.3l, manual everything. Strangely, the dealership ordered it with a cruise control and no G80 diff? But there weren't many around so I picked it up.

Soooooo ... any feedback on the original post?

There is no torque management system on your GMT800 with manual trans.

You can use most any programmer and get similar results with the 4.3L V6, a custom tune would be a waste of $.
