Xm Commander Mt In 2001 Suburban

After looking at some other installs, I got excited and wanted to do one myself. I used the XM Commander MT with a PIE GM9-AUX. The sound quality is perfect and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I've heard nightmares about the fm modulators, even though this system came with the fm direct kit (which I guess is quite a bit better than the fm broadcast type). Here's some pictures of how I did it. I removed the factory cassette deck and installed the din plate in it's place. It's not perfect, but it's good enough for me! I tied the power into the R.A.P. and it continues to play after the ignition is off and it turns off when a door opens.

Hi, I'm trying to do the same thing on my 2001 Suburban. From the photos it looks like a very nice job!. Can you post more details about connecting the PIE GM9-Aux? Did you pull the radio out to access the 9 pin connector on the back? What is the RAP and how do you connect the supplied power wire to it? Where did you put the interconnect cradle? How did you route the XM antenna?

Once again, thanks for sharing your work.
