92 X-cab Rear Driveshaft Vibration

Recommended Posts

I just had a VERY knowledgable and reputable local shop sandblast, powder-coat and replace ALL u-joints and carrier bearing on my 92 X-Cab 2wd that has been lowered 3/4. It has 176K miles and had NO vibe for the last 100K miles after I lowered it. The shop pulled out the shaft Friday again and found .027" of run-out in the rear shaft but could not find a real reason... They re-assembled the shaft / yokes as they were orginally. It is going back in sometime next week. Any ideas / suggestions or anyone with the same issue?! I have the old girl for sale, but I won't sell it with a vibe issue...

they might have got the shafts out of sync, some trucks are picky and want the two shafts together the way they were originally, they should try removing the rear shaft and turning it half way around and installing it, see if that works...
