Gm Alternator

Hey all,

 

We recently swapped the 305 in my truck for a 350. My truck is a 1989 sierra and the engine came from a 1987 Sierra. Its a 350TBI however the serpentine setup is different so I am running a different alternator. The alternator on the new setup has a 3 wire connection where my old one had just 2. Basically it has the 8gua going to the bat, and two others coming off the other side going god knows where. My old one had the 8gua going from the alt to bat and 1 plug going god knows where.

 

Well the alternator from this 350 is basically cooked. I have 2 2wire alts in my garage that both work well. I was wondering if its possible to use a 2 wire alt on a 3 wire setup and if so how?
