Chrysler To Build Fuel Efficient Grand Cherokee

Chrysler LLC will make its next-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee in 2010 with a unibody construction and a fuel-efficient V6 engine being developed under codename Phoenix, Chrysler Vice Chairman Tom LaSorda told a media gathering here today.

 

...and people have been complaining about GM doing XFE versions of Silverados and Sierras...!

 

At least they still have a real frame under 'em(, for now)!

Hrmmm - That doesn't make sense, then, why they'd roll this out as "news" at the big management briefing thing in Traverse City, MI... Oh well! It's not like I'll be buying one.

 

I did some searches. It looks like it will be a car-based unibody platform, rather than it's "own dedicated unibody platform."
