best cam for a vortec that will pass smog in cali

i want to get the most power out of my vortec and still pass smog i want to know how much poweri will get.

ps also not mess up my computer/also give me the specs on that cam

Is the rest of your setup stock?  I assume you have the Vortec 350, or is it the Vortec 305?

Either way, my recommendation would be to call Comp Cams (www.compcams.com) and give them your specs.  They are experts and can tell you which of their cams will work best with your combination of vehicle size, weight, usage, modifications, etc.  Any of the other cam manufacturers can do the same, but I really prefer Comp for my engines.

The only problem is that they usually won't try to predict how much power your engine will make, you have to get the specs from them and plug them into Desktop Dyno or some other engine simulator.
