Opinions On Wheel/tire Combo

I'm going to put AR Torq Thrust STs on the truck and I'm thinking about the Cooper Zeon LTZ for a tire. I'm thinking that it might be too aggressive a tire though for those rims. They might require a more "street" tire. Images below...thoughts?

NO to the thrusts, ask Controller about the Zeons. The Zeons look nice though.

 

The Thrust just seems like a 2wd wheel, not a 4x4.

I think it will look good but I think the chrome would look alot better with your paint color.I love the tires and you should be fine with them.

clarification (so jeff can jump in and be a hater ) these would be 20" rims and 305s for tires.

Torq thrusts on a muscle car, awesome, on a truck, nuh uh.

 

I like the Zeons, but I think the wheels just wouldn't look right.

I personally dont like the wheels but its your truck. The Coopers have a good look to em never had any myself.

I don't know Karl, they might look good. I had them on my '67 Mustang, and have always loved them. As for that aggresive of a tire, I definitely think they would not go with that wheel. Pirelli Scorpions, Bridegestone Alenza...those would look good on that wheel.

I love the look of the torque thrust wheel... but the 6 spoke kills it for me. It just doesn't look right. I believe you might want to look more. So much out there to look at. I have 20 inch Pirelli Scorpion ATs on mine and they have been great.

Never tried those tires, but the wheels would look way out of place on a truck. I'd keep looking!

Check out Centerline? I think? The brand Alaska has on his truck. I checked them out and they make some killer 4x4 wheels and they're light weight too.

yeah, i'm convinced. As much as i love the torq thrust style, it's really not going to work on the truck, especially leveled. I'll have to keep looking.

When I first glanced at the rim, it reminded me of the old Kragers I had on my '68 Roadrunner. Sharp on a car, but not on a truck.

Yep, cragar, weld and AR all had a rim that style back in the day. Definitely a retro look. I agree that the 6 spokes takes away from it a little bit, but i saw them a couple years ago on a gmt-800 tahoe and they were damn nice. A tahoe is definitely able to pull of the street look better, However, I wasn't sure they would work on the pickup, and now i'm convinced that they won't.

 

My problem is that i don't like chrome that much, and I also wold rather my rims not be too "busy". That's partially for looks and patially for easy of keeping them clean. Most of the black rims out there are very busy...lots of nooks and crannies, etc.

 

So...that said...how about these instead?

Those Black ones look alright but, being a chrome man I'd get it chrome instead... Just remember one thing when looking at rims. You want something that not only looks good but, is EASY to clean. You don't want be spending forever getting every nook and cranny clean on your rims...

Exactly..i don't think you can get much easier to clean than that procomp
