265/75's On Factory 16" Wheels

Guys....been reading a lot in these forums on different tire sizes, wheel sizes, and effects on mileage etc....Do you all have the computer programmed to accept the new tire size? Are there issues if you don't? I'd like to go the additional inch the 265's will give me over the 245's that came on the truck. I have approx 500 miles on my Sierra 2500HD 4x4 with the 6.0 gas. It doesn't feel like this truck is going to be too bad on gas......and the truck is awesome.

I put 265's on mine instead of 245's and have had no issues. If it seems like your mileage has dropped it's probably because the wheels are turning slightly slower while using the same amount of gas. I think my mileage improved slightly. A calibration would take any guessing out of it, but I haven't done one because it's not a huge change in size. Truck looks a heck of a lot better now.

Changed over to 265's almost 2 years and 20k miles ago and no issues at all and I didn't re-program anything. Tires still look as good as the day I put them on. I would highly recommend the change over.

Been running on 265's since 2002 when I bought the truck. Just be sure to buy "E" rated tires if you plan on heavy towing.
