Which Transfer Case Do I Have?

I have a 2008 GMC 2500 HD with the 6.0L, 6L90E, 4x4, with the rotary dial T/C shift knob. The case LOOKS like a NV263 but there is NO tag on it. The numbers I can find are stamped on the rear of the case and read-

08 F2

 

It has red fluid in it and a drain plug with a magnet.

 

Any ideas?

I think the RPO codes in your glove box should tell you the type of transfer case that you have. Have you tried that? Mine was MT1 I believe which = NP263.

I believe this is going to be your best bet for correct ID on the case. If you post the code, Im sure somebody in here can tell us what it is.
