Aftermarket Mpg Computer

Is there an aftermarket MPG computer available for GM trucks, with active fuel management, that will also tell me if the truck is in V4 or V8 mode?

It sounds like you need to do the DIC upgrade. All you need is a $100 panel that includes the DIC buttons. Everything you need to know is in this thread. Installing that panel will open up all sorts of information to be displayed, like 4cyl/8cyl mode.

I did the RPO code upgrade (only can be done with Tech II) and then wired in the controls for my DIC to display MPG, DTE, business/personal mileage, window/lock/light settings, etc. Works perfectly on my 2003 GMC 6.0L 2500HD, should work on almost any model, assuming you do the RPO update.
