Hi im obviously new so i apologize in advance if im not supposed to post this here. But i have a 2004 sierra and my radio is not working. it has power will play cds and tune to stations but there is this static/ buzzing sound whenever its on. I do believe it has something to do with the chime because every time that im supposed to hear the chime i hear this noise. It doesnt get louder when i turn up the volume only when i accelerate or rev the engine. However when i turn the volume all the way down the noise stops. I just wanted to see if i can get some help before having to shell out cash at a dealer. thanks in advance.

could be a problem with the amp

I agree. It sounds like the radio's internal amplifier is done.

If you post your vin I'll let you know what your system codes are. I can't post any build sheets so please don't ask. All I'm going to do with your vin is verify the rpo codes that you should already have in your glove box.

These are all the codes you have that can relate to sound system diagnosiss. UE1 onstar, UK6 rear seat audio controls, UB1 am/fm stereo w/cd,cassette, UK2 steering wheel radio controls, UQ7 bose speaker system. Hope this Kyle help you. I would like to help but I can't say that I understand the noise you are explaining.

Ummmm Im not to sure. The front two speakers say bose but nothing else does. I attached a picture of the HU. Maybe that might help.
You have Bose then, meaning it could be the external Bose amps as well.

[Edit] For some reason, I didn't see the last two posts.

Do you know where the external amps are located? Also I will do a recording of the noise just incase that helps also.
Center console I believe...

Im guessing the only way to test them is to try one that works, or is there another way. Also is the amp responsible for the chimes as well or is that just the HU.

What would i be testing in the event i had one. I located the amp as well and im guessing the entire system doesn't work once its unplugged. I know i asked this before but what is responsible for the warning chimes?
