My Frame (chassis) Is Going Bad.. Cover Paint Is Going Off.

Hi, i noticed that my Silverado 08 NBS has a grease like sustance covering and protetingit from oxide. I noticed about the grase was going off. And in 2 days it was a big oxide covering all frame part un uncovered by the grase.How can i solve it? wich product would be fine to apply on it? does GM sell the oem grase?thank you.

no gm does not sell OEM grase get it undercoated..

OP, check your local Line-X or Ziebart shop and talk to them about undercoating.

You can powerwash it and use some spray rubberized undercoating in a can. MarHyde makes a good one. 3M isn't bad either. Try your local auto parts store for it. They should have it for about 5 dollars.

I've heard that stuff is also known to trap moisture. Isn't very durable either (at least in my experience).

I used the rubber spray coating on the wheel wells of my last truck, and it held up great for 8 years. I just did it on my new one, too.

 

Whenever a chunk of the wax coating would peel off the frame on that one, I just coated the bare spots with POR-15, then a semi-gloss black paint over that. POR-15 and a rubber topcoat would probably work well too.
