95 Gmc With Airbag Light On

I have a 95 GMC Sierra 1500 that has the air bag light that comes on an flashes when you first start it, then sometimes stays on and sometimes goes off. Usually you can get it to go off if you turn the ignition off and restart it. Does anyone have any suggestions on where my problem might be or where I can start troubleshooting my problem? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

Your problem is that you've got an airbag in a truck. LOL j/k. I don't like airbags, but view them as a necessary evil.

 

I'm betting somewhere in the airbag circuit there is a short. I doubt it's a loose connection because the connectors they use are rather robust. You'll have to check wiring. Also, it could be in the coil behind the steering wheel, so don't forget to check that out.

 

I'm glad my 2500 work truck doesn't have airbags. I wish it didn't have ABS either, I can't justify $250+ for a wheel bearing.
