Lly / Lbz / Lb7

Good morning, on the 06' Duramax does anyone know how to tell for sure rather the mtr. is the LLY, LBZ or the LB7?

Well its not an LB7,those were used from '01 to mid-'04.

The LLY was used from mid-'04 to mid-'06,And the LBZ was used mid-'06 to the end of the GMT800 truck series production ('07)

Look at the eighth digit of your VIN....If its a "2" you have the "LLY" Duramax,If its a "D" you have the "LBZ"

Oh,You can also look inside your glovebox on the "SPID" label,It will list the RPO engine code there.

Thanks alot buddy. The number is a 2 so mine would be the LLY. Do you know if the LBZ is the one that come factory with the 360 HP & if not which one? Thanks again

Yep,LBZ has 360 hp.
