hi everyone. i got a 05 5.3 Sierra, and im kinda new to the whole modification thing, but at the same time i already know some stuff on whats upgradeable. the one thing that has me confused is the transmission. ive been told that when i put alot of power to the engine, the tranny wont be able to handle alot of power. what kind of upgrades can you do to it to handle at least 450hp? thanks.

I know transgo has kits that work well, for my 4L80E there is a stage one, two and three, the stage one is for R/V and towing then stage two is for street strip, and the stage three is all out performance (ie extreme duty, for sled pulls, etc.) they claimed that with the stage 2 (which i have) that the trans is good for 900HP! which is kinda crazy but this way i know i`m safe i guess, anyways this stage 2 kit can be installed without transmission remaval and can be completed in about 5 hours, and its way easier to install on a vehicle lift!

Noel, are you capable the do the work yourself or are will to send it off to a company?

well ill have to see what im gonna be dealing with first, but im pretty sure im not gonna send it to some company. i have a buddy who does a lot of mechanic work for my truck crew, so ima hit him up about the transmission upgrades.
