Looking to get headers.

I have a 2000 Silverado Z71 and looking to put headers it.  I would like to know what is/ who has the best headers out there.  Also what should I look for in choosing headers?  I have heard that equal length headers are the best way to go.  I would appreciate any info anyone has.

There are a lot of choices for your truck, they aren't cheap, but can provide additional torque and HP when combined with an opened exhaust and a free flowing intake.

 

Here is a starting point TByrne Motorsports - I personally like the The Other Guys, JBA coated are excellent, Hamm's are good, Gibson makes a nice set to compliment the cat back.

While equal length-long tube headers yield the most gain I do not feel the additional cost to purchase and install justify the small gain over shorties that are a bolt in. Am on my 2nd set of JBAs. Had a set on my 00 4.8 and have a set on my 02 5.3. They work great with my real duals with the Magnaflow-X in the system, no low end loss and good gains at higher rpm. The SOTP meter can sure tell a difference. JBAs are inexpensive (watch for a sale) and are a perfect fit, or atleast my 2 sets have been. My opinion.
