Burnt Seats...

Recommended Posts

Well finally got to installing my new seat elements for my heated seats. I was not going to pay the crazy price GM wanted to do it. I got the elements off GMpartsdirect.com. It was a pain to get the leather covers off and back on but it came out good. I was thinking of sending these pics to GM to see what they would say. I think I could of lost my truck if it burnt anymore. What do you guys think?

The lower seat element was fine but I did both of them while I had everything apart.

They would say that is what they all look like when they break if they ever had one apart.

Edit: I just realized I used the word they four times in one sentance. Can't type anymore I'm going to see if THEY will buy me a few more beers down at the bar.

Trucks not that old so I don't know why it would do that. The new ones I installed work great. I just cleaned up the burnt pieces for the time being. Should I write to GM or is this common.

Can't hurt anything. You might just to see what they say.

+1.

If you read Volkswagen forums, there is a ton of complaints about seat heaters burning through the seats, in some cases even through the pants of the vehicle occupants.
