Well - Let me introduce myself - Sam from Ohio - not to far from Pittsburgh, PA.

 

Currently driving my 08 Silverado - see sig.

 

Have owned - in my younger days ( when I could fit ) - '61 CJ5 (81 inch wheelbase) - '63 CJ6 (long - 101 inch wheelbase - watch Hatari) - 78 Jeep CJ5 Golden Eagle (84 inch wheelbase - Rolled - Oooops!) then later an '80 GMC 4X4 Short Bed Step Side anemic inline 6-250ci - '86 CJ7 94 inch wheelbase - anemic AMC inline 4-150ci - '91 Chevrolet K1500 Z71 350 V8 Long bed Great Truck. Along with several other non SUV/Truck based vehicles.

 

I really like my 08 Silverado except for two minor items:

 

Instrument cluster - When I tilt the steering wheel down a couple clicks to a comfortable position the top of the steering wheel blocks the upper portion of the speedometer. I cannot see past 45/50MPH. I tried many setting combinations of the power driver seat, seat recliner and tilt wheel but viewing the top of the gauges in a comfortable position is a problem. I noticed the steering wheel is not centered on the gauge cluster between the speedometer and tach but is offset to the left of center. My truck is equipped with the 1LT package. Why did GM develop two types of instrument clusters for the new full size trucks? The LTZ has a completely different cluster. I had no problem viewing all the gauges in my old 1991 Chevrolet Silverado equipped with tilt wheel. I am 5' 10" tall. My wife says I am tall in the torso.

 

 

Windshield -

I think the windshields are slanted back to far. I know - areodynamics for gas mileage.

 

Two minor gripes.
