Denali Vs Escalade Ride Quailty

I'm looking at a 2008 Escalade with 22" wheels.

My 03 Denali has 17" wheels, which rides great. The family loves it.

How will that Escalade ride with 22" wheels?

It has the same or similar autoride suspension...

We love the way the 03 Yukon Denali rides, my concern is the 22" wheels will cause a harsh ride.

How did Caddy compensate for the low profile tires?

I have a few co-workers with '08 Escalades on 22's, they ride smooth. I also have another co-worker with an '05 Escalade on 20's - you cannot tell the difference in ride b/w the two trucks.

Drove a few Slades with 22s here in austin and I didnt like them when I got off the highway. Surface streets vary here and this caused a slight problem in the quality of the ride, but the handling was very nice.

Just get the most tire you can...the more tire...better ride quality

Is it a NEW 'slade, on a dealer's lot? If so, have them swap out the tires & wheels for something with more tire. 20's should be fine. But, I think the 22's will give you more "harshness" than you'd want in a Cadillac..

I test drove a bunch of Escalades on 22" before I got my Denali. Since I was coming from a sport sedan, I didn't think that the Escalade was harsh at all.

Escalades come with either 18's or 22's. And the outside diamater is different, so you would have to adjust the computer, and speedometer somehow.

20's are on Chevy's and GMC's. Caddy went to 22" for some reason.

Is it a NEW 'slade, on a dealer's lot? If so, have them swap out the tires & wheels for something with more tire. 20's should be fine. But, I think the 22's will give you more "harshness" than you'd want in a Cadillac..

I had an 01 Denali that I sold to my sister and bro-in-law with 17s and had a 07 LTZ Tahoe with 20s before getting my Escalade on 22s August of this year. All three have auto ride and since I sometimes fly home to CT to visit my family I still get to drive my old Denali around from time to time. There's a slight difference in ride (handling road surface and bumps) and a major difference in handling/cornering between 17s and 20s but not much between 20s and 22s. I wouldn't go flying around corners since it is still a 5000+ LB truck, but the Escalade still corners at higher speeds then the Denali could. I tended to air up my tires for the Denali and the Tahoe but with the Escalade I found that more then 5 PSI over recommended PSI made the ride a bit harsh so I keep them at 3-5 PSI over recommended.

I hadn't spec'd out a new (2009) Escalade, but the '09s are showing to not even have the 22" option.

They DO, however, seem to have 20's as a dealer installed option, though... (which, I'm guessing, the 22's probably are)

In all honesty I would say the 01 Denali has more of the cush ride! I absolutely loved the seats in that truck and enjoyed taking long trips (CT to Florida was the longest) in it. I just think there was more cushioning, side support and comfort with the built in armrest. To me the GMT-900 seats do not have the side bolstering that hold ya in place while cornering, if you haven't figured out by now I like to push my trucks/cars to their limits.

I agree with you about the GMT-900's seats. The 07/08 Cadillac seats that I've seen "look" the same to me, as far as the seat bottom and side bolstering goes. Are they?
