Pdm Compatibility

If I buy a PDM from a 2005 yukon that did not have the steering wheel controls, will it affect anything if I install it in a 2006 sierra with steering wheel controls? are there any other options that could possibly be affected?

i believe only the bcm stores the steering controls....

Hes right. BCM gets resistance values from the button presses and sends commands to the IPC, Radio, etc..
