Needed Advice On Bed Caps And Tops

I had a Leer once on a Ford and loved it

I am looking for a used, hopefully fiberglass bed cap/camper shell

 

I want a cab high with sliding side windows and screens

 

there aren't many for sale on Ebay, I thought maybe I'd get lucky and find one within driving distcance

 

another problem, if I can't find a red one, looks like it will cost at least $200 to get it painted right.

 

any advice you guys have?

You have to get lucky to find one within driving distance on eBay. Selling caps is pretty much a local thing because of shipping problems. Have you tried Auto trader or any of your local gas station/liquor store car/parts papers?

 

Another possibility: I know my local cap/shell dealer buys used ones and resells them. You could try something like that. They would be more expensive but far less than a new one.
