I have 2002 chevy HD with 8.1. My heater has no heat to it. The blower in the cab works fine but the air coming out is cool and thats with it on the hottest setting. My truck does have the computer controlled climate.

Stupid questions, but I have to ask.

 

Coolant level full?

Does it reach operating temperature?

Is there a noticeable temperature difference in the inlet and outlet hoses of the heater core when up to operating temperature(I use a digital temp guage, some brave men still do it by hand)?

 

Thats where you have to start.

I doubt seriously this is engine coolant related. I think it's a blend motor problem. Either that or the auto climate controls are on the fritz.

 

EDIT: It seems to me that I read something else in here about this problem not too long ago. Did you do a search?
